It will work just fine I say go to it. But IMHO don't mess with an improved you just don't gain that much and if you ever want or need to sell it you'll really take a hit compared to what you could get for the standard cartridge.

I would to go to a switch barrel on mine in the future . I know that Dave Scovil has wrote a good bit about it in Rifle magazine I think he used a rebored /06 barrel . He also went to 375 Hawk which I beleive is just a Imp 375 Whelan . James

Why not send it to Jes for reboring? I believe it costs $225 now.

I have rebarreled several 1895's the wheelin is about the same thing as the 35 Win. I would'nt be afraid of it at all. I built a 358 win using a Douglas ultra rifled barrel from an original 30-03 that had a shot out barrel. 95's are simple to do. A word to the wise save the take off barrel, it is a very simple task to replace in the event you want to sell the gun as original.

    Good luck

Cause a rebore still wears the jpan insignia which dont lever my crank. I'm asssuming that if the 95 deal falls the same could go for a BLR ?or is it trickier? Maybe what I should be asking is which would be easier?
