I think it is for Colt's .32 New Police. About the same as .32 S&W Long , but with a flat nose bullet.
Yup 32 New Police. I think I may even have one when I was looking for the 32 Long Colt.
That flat nosed bullet is very effective at revolver velocities. The bullet seating mode on those old Ideal tong tools was fixed in depth for a specific bullet and case length. Therefore, for one cartridge design, (with the proper powder charge of course) that tool can make some very fine ammunition. Nice find! Enjoy it.
