I have a Remington Model 12 that does not have a letter after it.
I thought all Remington Model 12 had a letter from A-F stamped on the receiver.
If there one on mine where would it be?
Thanks,
Terryt

Found this site with some good info about Mod 12 ID

Now I lay me down to sleep
A gun beside me is what I keep
If I awake, and you're inside
The coroner's van is your next ride
Interestingly, I have TWO Model 12 Rems, which I truly love! One is a New York City shooting gallery gun (sic) from the very early 1930s (a 605,4xx serial number) which is factory marked as Model 12C. My other -- dated 1936 (s/n 831,1xx) came with a factory-supplied Weaver 'scope, and does NOT have any letter designation (that I have been able to find ) on it. Just, "Model 12".

You should be able to ID through the rifle's features. I have one that is marked just 12 although it has the long octagonal bbl. and crescent butt as a 12"C" would.
There is a 12c listed on a local sight that has a round bbl and plastic shotgun type butt, clearly not with "C" features. Not sure of the receiver marking on this one.
Thanks everyone for the information.
