I watched this rifle on a benchrest website for several weeks, the owner made two big price drops, no lookers. I texted the guy, he called me, I made him a offer within $100 of his price, and the deal was struck. It came into the lgs this am and I picked it up about 11. Got it home and shot it with some jacketed loads, and lead loads also. At 25 yds it was a ragged hole with either load for 4 shot groups, at 100 yds it kept 3 shot groups with nearly all 3 touching, this is with Iron sights, it also came with scope rings. The caliber is 40/65, and it has a custom 30" barrel, with the tropical taper for the .375 H&H size barrel, with the original front and rear sights. I may put a 3x9 scope with BDC has marks and shoot it at different yardages 100, 200, 300 etc if I can get the BDC to work out. The iron sights are 6" low at 25 and much more at 100 yds. I would like to put a long range vernier on it, but the only way I can figure how to do that is to remove the saftey and machine a plate that i can drill and tap to match vernier sights, that can be secured by a screw or roll pin under the tang. Another way way is to remove the quarter rib screws, get some longer, and machine a base to secure a staff on top of the rib. I will send pics to TBG to post when he gets a chance.
