    Feasability of using Lee 311-100-2R cast bullets in 7.62x39 , 7.62x54r , .303 british

I was wondering if anyone could advise me of the possibility of loading The Lee 311-100-2R cast bullet in 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, .303 british or other rifles. If so what loads would be advisable? Thanks in advance for any input.

You find it a bit light on girth. I have the 3 groove verison and it throws at .311 in WW. That is a shade skinny for the mentioned calibres. Bumping in a .314 die might help. The bullet is really designed for true .30cal application.

I've tried the 311 in a savage enfield. Round tumbles. I have even beagled the mold up to .314 without success. The same .314 does shoot well in my Russian M44 and 7.7mm Jap.

Cast them soft (lead or 1-40 alloy), lube lightly and load them over 3.2 gr of Bullseye. Velocity should be 800-900 fps. Test at 50 Yards. If they are going to shoot they should shoot with that load.

    100-grainers in the .30's

My .303 likes a .314" 100-gr. LSWC or WC with 4.0 grs. of Unique and the 7.62x54mmR does well with 3.5 grs. of Red Dot and a .314" 98-gr. LRN, while a 100-gr. .3125" LFP (probably from Meister) goes about 2 - 2.5" at 50 yards with 5.0 grs. of Unique.
