    270 & Freechex

I'm wanting Charlie to make me a Freechex for my 270. I have a resizer from Lee on order for .278. I'm using Lyman molds 280473 and 280486L. What size do I need to tell him to make the Freechex for?

The bare gas check shanks on mine run in the range of .2495" - .2515" across several different molds (Lyman 280468, RCBS 27-150-SP, RCBS 27-130-FP).

There is also a gas check shank dimension table in the following thread
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=17539 , which indicates a max check shank size of .253 for the 270.

After looking at the table I find in interesting that there is very little difference in check shank size between 6.5mm, 270 and 7mm. I suspect you could get away with some "cross checking" if you had to. I know I have put 270 checks on a 7mm cast boolit before without much problem (while sizing down to .278)
