When C. Sharps rebarreled my original Remington #1 sporting rifle, I had them chamber it for Jamison .44-77 brass. The original damaged barrel was chambered for the original .090" thick rims. To get...

I got 5 reloadable .30 rimfire cartridges made and took them to the range. Here is a video of the fun!

Well done! I have 2 of them and enjoy shooting them both.

The Bullshop has some lighter .25 cal bullets. I use the in my two .25 Stevens rifles.

From what Ive seen, Stevens 25s run on the tight side. I have a .25-25 that runs .253" groove size. If yours is around .251" uou can use .25scp bullets.

COTW lists .30 rimfire short bullet diameter as .286". Those .284" would likely drop out of the mold a little larger. I would the cut them down and make a heel on the lathe. Similar to what I showed...

Does anybody have a few Lee 7mm, 130gr soup can bullets I could buy? These seem like the best starting point to make .30 rimfire bullets. Thanks.

Well what do you know - I just acquired a .30 rimfire Marlin "OK" derringer of the 1863-1870 period! My wife and I were strolling an antique mall this weekend and found this little gem at an...

Safer just to stick with a Gatling gun

I'm not very familiar with the laws. But if the action was made before 1898 - say a 1870s NY state rifle action. Would building a pistol from that be illegal?

The m1865 was being made about the same period that as the type 2 split breech carbines (but these were sub-contracted to Savage). It is interesting that Remington made the #3 saw-handle, single...

There is one on gunsiniternational now. A bit pricey.

Glad to hear you finally got it and its a good one! The m1865s are very scarce, but I see one advertised every now and then. But finding an affordable one is probably a pipe dream...

Standing by for an update! These are neat pistols and closely related to my beloved #2 sporting rifles. What I'd really like to find is a nice Navy model 1865 spur trigger pistol. That would be a...

Yes, that is a rimfire breech block that has been converted to centerfire.

If it is a factory .32-20, the barrel will be marked "32W" on the bottom flat, ahead of the forend. If it is just marked "32", it was a rimfire converted to centerfire.
Please post some clear,...

.38 S&W in an original #2 would be ok, so long as the load is not hot rodded. It would be pretty similar to .38 rimfire, which is an original chambering. I have 13 examples of the #2 sporting rifle...

I concur 100% with marlinman93. .38-55 is way to much for a #2 sporting rifle. There are quite a few viable options that would be safe and enjoyable to shoot. They are fine rifles.

I do not have a Sharps 4 barrel pistol....yet 😉 But I do have a Remington 4 barrel ring trigger pistol in .32 rimfire. Both use a rotating firing pin. When using reloadable rimfire brass, correct...

I have video of how to convert centerfire case to reloadable rimfire. You'll need to first make centerfire brass to fit your chamber. If you are serious and want to pursue this, let me know. I'll...
