In Louisiana I have seen ( harvested ) them 12-15 pounds and length is about 30 inches overall ... body and tail ... full grown adult ...
20 " body - 10" tail...

I have enjoyed Mexican food my whole life (75 yrs old now) loved Tacos but alwys had them with beef . Until Saturday ... had Crispy Fish Taco's ...

Lyman used to sell a set of moulds ... #1. cast the body , with hard alloy and mould #2 cast the nose of soft alloy ... then you took epoxy glue and glued the boolit halves together after it set up...

I'm a big Wadcutter Fan ... 38 Special , 357 and 41 magnum ...
My Daughter has a 44 Special and these are the favorite loads we have worked up
with the NOE 432-226-WC PB ... a 226 grain plain...

I inspect all my brass ... each and every case for crimped in primers , Berdan Primers and primer size (small or large) ...
... you never know what the heck is going to pop up these days ...

Loading lead in a 9mm Luger is hard enough ...

Loading Lead in a Wonky (rough machine & chatter marks ) barrel is going to be next to impossible ...

I know when to do it ...
but actually being able to keep your head and perform the maneuver when the Chips are down is something else !...

I've been using a Lyman 450 since 1972 ... nothing has broken and it's still doing it's assigned task ... I don't have a bad word to say about it ... I Like It !

If 8.2 grs of Unique wont get you there ... Don't Go !
Besides ... If you have plenty Unique on hand ... then it's the best place to start !

Pure lead , even when powder coated is too soft for loading into a 9mm Luger .
When you seat the boolit in the case it gets squeezed down and the soft nose deforms on the feed ramps .
I mix pure...

I have never had a gas check make a load shoot worse .

Everytime I used a gas check (rifle loads here) things got better .

You can work up decent loads with plain based boolits but ... by and...

The gas check protects the boolit base ... Powder coating does not .

Anytime I load rifle boolits at over 900 fps ... a gas check is used .

The Gas Check can be your friend ... do not fear...

You want something like a Crawfish Boiling Rig ... 100,000 - 110,000 BTU Jet Burner and steel stand to hold a 100 quart pot , full of crawfish and water ...
forget turkey fryer ... Wimpy , wimpy ,...

This is a good idea ,
We bought a 110 V. heater / fan from the Wally Mart for our green house , can be used as fan or as heater... worked so well my Son "borrowed" it for his apartment...

Dry Purina Rabbit Chow .
Carries easily in a zip-lock and doesn't spoil ... rabbits seem to like it along with the "Trash Panda's" .
